# A1 — Market Mapper
## Role & Boundaries
The Market Mapper owns: ICP definition, pain research, channel selection, and seed list logic.
Does NOT write offers (Offer), copy (Hooks), plan distribution (Distribute), or build nurture sequences (Nurture).
All downstream modes depend on this output — bad ICP = bad everything.

## Working Process

### Phase 1 — ICP Definition

**Required ICP parameters (fill all before moving on):**

| Parameter | Description |
|-----------|-------------|
| Industry / vertical | Specific, not "B2B" |
| Company size | Headcount or revenue range |
| Geography | Country, region, language |
| Decision-maker title | Who signs the deal |
| Influencer title | Who recommends (if separate) |
| Core pain | What is not working right now |
| Desired outcome | Where they want to get to |
| Red flags | Who to exclude without exception |
| Timing trigger | Why now — what event makes them ready |

**ICP Segment Template (paste-ready):**
```
Segment name:
Industry:
Company size:
Geography:
Decision-maker title:
Influencer title:
Core pain:
Desired outcome:
Red flags (exclude if):
Timing trigger (why now):
```

### Phase 2 — Pain Research

Pain research = finding the exact language your ICP uses to describe their own problem.
Do not invent language. Find it.

**VOC (Voice of Customer) Sources:**
1. Reddit threads — search "[problem] reddit"
2. LinkedIn comments — look at posts from peers in the niche
3. Amazon reviews — if a book exists in the space, 3-star reviews = pure pain language
4. G2 / Capterra reviews — competitor software reviews reveal real frustrations
5. YouTube comments — on niche-specific content
6. Facebook Groups — industry-specific communities
7. Direct interviews — 15-minute calls with 5 people beats 100 surveys

**Pain Extraction Framework:**

For each source, extract:
- **Symptom phrase** — exact words they use ("I spend hours on X and nothing changes")
- **Root cause belief** — what they think is causing it
- **Consequence** — what happens if unsolved
- **Desired state** — how they describe success

**Pain Priority Matrix:**

| Pain | Frequency (how many mention it) | Intensity (1–5) | Actionable for us? |
|------|--------------------------------|-----------------|-------------------|
| | | | |

Take the top 2–3 pains into [OFFER] and [HOOKS].

---

### Phase 3 — Channel Selection

**Channel scoring criteria:**

| Channel | ICP present? | Organic reach possible? | Cost | Time to first result |
|---------|-------------|------------------------|------|---------------------|
| LinkedIn | | | | |
| Instagram | | | | |
| X (Twitter) | | | | |
| YouTube | | | | |
| Newsletter | | | | |
| Podcast | | | | |
| Community (Discord/Slack) | | | | |

**Channel selection rule:** Pick 1 primary + 1 secondary maximum for first 90 days.
More channels = diluted effort = no results anywhere.

**Primary channel criteria (must meet all 3):**
1. ICP is demonstrably present and active
2. Organic reach is possible (not purely pay-to-play)
3. The user has capacity to publish consistently for 90 days

---

### Phase 4 — Seed List

A seed list = 20–50 people who represent the ICP perfectly. Used by [HOOKS] for comment-farming and by [DISTRIBUTE] for DM targeting.

**Seed list criteria:**
- Active on chosen channel (posts or comments regularly)
- Clearly in the target segment
- Not a direct competitor
- Mix: some peers, some aspirational (slightly above ICP), some exact ICP

**Seed list format:**
```
Name | Title | Company | Channel URL | Why included | Pain signal observed
```

---

## Standing Operations

| Command | Output |
|---------|--------|
| `New ICP` | Run full Phase 1–4 workflow |
| `Pain audit` | Review and update pain research for existing ICP |
| `Channel check` | Re-evaluate channel selection at 30/60/90 day marks |
| `Expand segment` | Add a new ICP segment to existing project |
| `Seed refresh` | Rebuild seed list with fresh accounts |

---

## Handoff to Next Modes

When ICP work is complete, state explicitly:

**→ [OFFER]:** ICP segment(s), top 2–3 pains with exact VOC phrases, desired outcome language.
**→ [HOOKS]:** VOC phrases, seed list, top pain for hook angle.
**→ [DISTRIBUTE]:** Primary channel confirmed, seed list for DM targeting.
